Big Girl Bed!

It's about that time. Time to move Emma into a big girl bed to make way for the new baby. We put it together Sunday night and Emma was so excited about it until it came time to actually go to sleep in it. I think it scares her a little. Any suggestions on the best way to transition into a big girl bed?

Emma was such a big helper. She loves to help you do everything! And I do mean everything!

Of course you have to test out the finished product. And since Daddy seems to be an expert on sleeping, Emma wanted him to test it out with her.

Our state fair is a great state fair!

I'm a little slow to post, but on September 8th we went to the fair. I don't know what it is about the fair, but I always look forward to going when it comes that time of year. I think it might be all that yummy fair food. Whatever it is, we had a great time!
Emma enjoyed the little hands on the farm exhibit where she learned all about farm chores. Mom and Dad enjoyed this as well because it was absolutely FREE!

I believe you cannot go to the fair without visiting the big yellow slide! Tyler enjoyed this one with Emma due to my ever increasing midsection.

Then it was off to the animals which is all Emma could talk about. We got to see a lamby get a haircut, and Emma discovered something about pigs.....
.... that they really stink!
It was hilarious! She was so excited to go see the piggies which were outdoors mind you. But when we walked in the tent, Emma started crying and trying to cover her nose. It was all she could do not to throw up. I wish I had the camera ready for her initial reaction, but I think you get the idea. Now, any time you mention the piggies, Emma will tell you that "piggy stinks!"

Happy Birthday Tyler!

September 14th was Tyler's 26th birthday. We are now in the latter years of our 20's. His actual birthday was pretty low-key since it was Sunday, but with all the family celebrations, the whole weekend was a party! I am a firm believer in dragging out birthdays as long as you can!

We got to celebrate with him on Friday. Emma and I took him bowling at Fat Cats where Emma almost beat us both! Either Emma is just really good, or we are terribly bad. I like to think Emma is just gifted. Then we enjoyed a meal at my all time favorite steakhouse, the Outback. Nothing fancy, but still a lot of fun. Tyler's favorite part was probably the fact that I drove the whole evening, which is rare.

Tyler is such an amazing person. He works so hard! Especially now as he builds our house. I'm grateful for all he does for us. I'm grateful for all his strengths that offset my weaknesses. You will never meet a kinder, more positive person than Tyler. As other friends come and go, this one fact will always remain the same; my best friend will always be Tyler. As for Emma, she loves her daddy and cherishes any time she can spend with him. She especially loves her little daddy-daughter dates to Cafe Rio. Happy Birthday Tyler! We love you!

It's raining, it's pouring.

I love the rain! I get frustrated sometimes because it seems that the rainstorms here last about five minutes and then they're done. Sunday was a good rainstorm and Tyler and Emma took full advantage!
Emma was so curious about the rain. She kept bugging us to go outside. Finally we caved thinking lets just let her do it, so that she'll know what it feels like and she won't want to do it anymore. Well, that didn't work because she LOVED it!
She ran around like crazy just laughing and screaming. It was pretty fun to watch. She loved it so much.....
.... this is the reaction we got when we made her come inside.

It's about Time!

I have made my first official purchase for our new house. Never mind all the wood and concrete, etc, etc. This is the important stuff!
I went up to Swiss Days with my parents and my sister on Saturday. I love Swiss Days. I found out about it only a few years ago. I had heard of it, but always thought it was some cultural festival, so I wasn't really interested. But then I found out it was shopping, and I've made it a priority to go every year since!
Anyway, there is almost always a trend at swiss days. One item that you see in almost everyone's hand. This year they had a lot of clock booths. Clocks are something I have overlooked in the past, but these clocks were different and unique, so I caved and bought two of them.

One for me......
.... and one for Emma.

Speaking of our house, here are a few recent pictures of the progress. Tyler has been working so hard! I've been really impressed and grateful. Its going to be a beautiful house. He's about ready to wrap up framing, and then we get to move on to the fun stuff!

You Belong in 1952

You're fun loving, romantic, and more than a little innocent. See you at the drive in!

We are having a.........

........drum roll, please............... It's a Girl! Which makes Emma happy because any time we asked if she wanted a brother or a sister she would say sister. Hopefully there is a brother down the road somewhere. But as for now, we are excited to have two little girls!

Bowhunt 2008

Every year in August we all go camping for the bowhunt. I think I've only missed one or two years in my whole life. We were fortunate to have all of our family up there at the same time. This was Emma's second bowhunt, but kind of her first, too. She wasn't mobile last time we went, and I'm pretty sure she didn't remember it all that well. But boy did she have a blast! It was that much more fun for me to watch her having so much fun. Even if I didn't get to finish Breaking Dawn while we were there. I'm already looking forward to next year!

Can you tell what Emma's favorite thing to do was?

We even got to go to the beach! The beach at moon lake that is. And boy, was the water cold!
Daddy even let her drive a little. Nothing like starting 'em young! Now at home she always tells us she wants to drive.

Are you kidding?

So, I see the poll is neck and neck. We were supposed to find out this last Wednesday what we are having, but the stinkin' doctor felt the need to go out of town and reschedule our appointment that has been set up for over a month! I mean really! So anyway, we go in this next tuesday to find out what we are having. I know its only like six days difference, but when you've been waiting so long, six days longer seems like forever. My family is all very anxious to see if the Noss trend will be broken, or if it will continue with a long line of girls. We will see, stay tuned!

Heritage Park

I haven't been too diligent in my blogging lately, but a theme I regrettably seem to live by is better late than never. A couple of weeks ago we went to This is the Place Heritage Park with my cousin and my sister in law. It has changed a lot since I had been there last. Its a lot more fun than I remember! My cousin Nikki works there for the summer. And even with a professional tour guide, we didn't see everything. But we sure got to see a lot! Thanks Nikki for such a fun day!
The monument

Playing pioneer games
Ironing like the pioneers did
watering the plants
making our very own buzz saw
dancing on the stage
petting all the animals
trying on the very fashionable hats

It's harder than it looks!

Happy Birthday Emma!

Emma's birthday was last Sunday, July 6th. My little baby is 2 years old! It was a fun day. She was so excited to open her presents. They were sitting on the table, and we had to let her open a few throughout the day because she wouldn't leave them alone. She chose My Little Pony decorations for her party with my family, and she especially loved the bouquet of balloons we got to help decorate. At her party we ate pancakes for dinner, and had banana splits for dessert because she loves bananas and ice cream. It was a fun day! Thanks to my family for coming to the party and for all the really nice gifts. Emma loves every one of them! Now we get to look forward to celebrating with the Tyson's. Gotta drag those birthdays out as long as you can!

Fun Facts about Emma

The Zoo

Last Saturday we went to the zoo to celebrate Emma's birthday. Emma hasn't been to the zoo since she's been old enough to enjoy it. She loved seeing all the animals and being there with her cousins and grandma.

Emma loved the elephants. I wish you could hear her say it, it's adorable!
We were cooling off at one of the many misters they had there. Which was really nice because boy was it HOT!
Emma would rather push the wagon than ride in it. Go figure.
