Pumpkin Patch

We finally made it to the pumpkin patch on Halloween day! We took a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch down at Rowley's in Santaquin.(They have the best apples and Ice Cream!) It was slim pickins' to find the good pumpkins, but we made out alright. And hey, they were free so you can't beat that! Emma is convinced that we are going to make pumpkin pie with our pumpkins since we didn't have time to carve them. Maybe I could tell her we put our pumpkins in a can!

Better late than never...

I realize its mid-October, but you have to post pictures of the first day of school!
Emma was so excited to start preschool again this year, and she absolutely loves it!

Cowgirl up!

For Father's Day, we decided to do a photo shoot of the girls on the horses for Tyler's dad. I thought they turned out pretty well, although it made me wish for some better training in photography. But with subjects as cute as these, who needs training, right? I'm lucky I got them both to smile!

Mary, Mary, quite contrary.....

....how does your garden grow?
We decided this year that we wanted to try our hand at being gardeners. Hopefully it will work out, because I tend to kill things.
We planted cucumbers, peas, beans, onions, peppers, and yes, even tomatoes among other things. But only because I want fresh salsa.
Best case scenario, we will have a great harvest of garden fresh veggies. Worst case scenario, we will still have this beautiful box that Tyler built, which is the prettiest thing we have in our drab, unfinished yard!

Mischief

Does this scene seem familiar to anyone?

Note to self.....

...... never, never try to cut your own hair again! The result is an uneven, mullet-like, hairdo that wouldn't flatter a gorilla.

P.S. Be grateful that your hair is still long enough to fit in a ponytail. Sort of.

Spring has sprung!

Look carefully at these pictures.

Do you see it?
Yep, its a SUNBURN! (Shame on Mommy for forgetting the sun screen.) But Spring is FINALLY here! We spent our whole day outside today and it was fabulous!

Happy Easter!

Easter was a lot of fun this year! Emma understood the jist way better this year and was way more into it. Mya seemed to enjoy it as well. Even if she didn't understand that the eggs shake because there's good stuff inside, or that the eggs we colored are not actually balls ( thank goodness they are hard boiled, right?) It was fun the watch them have fun.

See all those fun little toys? She didn't care, all she wanted was this tootsie roll!

Mya's Aversion

I have decided that Mya has some sort of aversion to getting her picture taken with Emma. We have had two formal photo shoots within the last 3 months, and out of over 100 pictures taken, we do not have one good picture of the two of them together. Largely in part due to Mya. She is happy and even poses a little when you try to take her picture by herself.

But when you put her next to Emma, you get this....
...... and this......

..... and this.
I don't get it. I just want one nice picture we can frame and put up on the wall. Is that too much to ask?

Pictures

I had some 1 year/Valentines pictures taken of my girls. Meg Hall from Meg Hall Photography got some great shots. Especially since Mya was a major stinker for much of the time! I realize it is now Easter time, but better late than never, right? Sadly, I seem to live by that motto.

This is about the best shot of them together.

Excuses, Excuses

Well, I've been a less than attentive blogger lately. My good friend Amanda told me oh so nicely that she didn't check my blog anymore because it was boring. So, for fear of becoming too boring I will give blogging another try. I have forgotten how much fun it is to be able to record things via the blog. Since I'm a horrible journal writer, scrapbooker, etc. This helps me to record the special events in our lives. A lot has happened since Halloween ( go figure!) Here are a few hightlights:

Mya turned 1.

We had a great Christmas! ( In which we unfortunately did not take many pictures.) We did get some pictures, however, of this sweet doll house Santa made for Emma. Santa waited a little too long to start it, which made for some very, very, late nights(you could even say early mornings!). But it was totally worth it to see the look on her face!

We got to go sledding for our cousin Ashlyn's birthday party, and it was a blast!

We were not too sorry to see 2009 end. What a challenging year for us! But we have learned a lot and we are so ready to move ahead as 2010 seems to be very promising!
