Carving pumpkins

We finally did it! I've been wanting to carve pumpkins for years, and we have just never gotten around to it. This year I told myself we were going to do it for sure, and I'm so glad we did. It was so much fun! (Except for cleaning out the pumpkin guts. Not my favorite part. But Emma sure did enjoy it!)

I realize that this is not a very becoming picture of me. I almost cropped myself out of it. Just focus on the cuties next to me, okay?

Cupcake Party

Every year my sister does a little cupcake party around Halloween for the nieces who are old enough. This was Emma's first year to attend. I think she really had a blast! Thanks Tif and Cherice for such a fun time, and for giving Mom a little break!

Cornbelly's

Last Saturday we went down to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point. Emma loved it! There was so much to do! And we had fun just watching her have so much fun. We cherish our time with Tyler since he is working so hard these days.
Daddy's little girl.

Pumpkin princesses in the pumpkin carriage.
The cow train is always a hit.

There were so many slides. Emma was in heaven! She kept telling us " One more time" , which of coarse turned into at least 10 more times.

The Hay Ride
This little piggy.....

As we left, we made sure to pick out some pumpkins to carve. Emma's first choice was a little heavy.....
.... so we encouraged her to find one a little more her size.

Its Fall Y'all

One of my favorite things to do in the fall is go to Gardner Village and see the witches. So today for our friday lunch we went to eat at Archibald's so we could walk around and see all the fun witches. And of course we had to take advantage of a few photo ops with all the cute fall decorations. Have I mentioned I love this time of year?

All the cousins. Never mind trying to get them all to smile at the camera, its hard enough just getting them all to look at the camera.
Emma was only slightly more interested in eating her candy than in posing for this picture.

The Greatest Show on Earth!

Last week we were able to go to the circus with my brother, his family, and my mom and dad. I haven't been since I was little, and I don't remember a thing. It was fun to see all the strange and crazy things they do at the circus. It makes you wonder how in the world people decide to be in the circus. The best part was watching Emma enjoy it. From the trax ride into town, down to the very last bite of popcorn. Thank you Cory and Candice for sharing your tickets. We had a blast!

The elephant is actually painting a picture. Pretty amazing.
Emma had to wave goodbye to the elephant as it left.

High wire motorcycle. Where do they come up with these things?
I don't know what you call this thing, but at one point they had 8 motorcycles in there at one time.

It is amazing the things these elephants can do! And they are HUGE!

Big Girl Bed!

It's about that time. Time to move Emma into a big girl bed to make way for the new baby. We put it together Sunday night and Emma was so excited about it until it came time to actually go to sleep in it. I think it scares her a little. Any suggestions on the best way to transition into a big girl bed?

Tyler and Emma preparing for the task at hand.

Emma was such a big helper. She loves to help you do everything! And I do mean everything!

Of course you have to test out the finished product. And since Daddy seems to be an expert on sleeping, Emma wanted him to test it out with her.

Our state fair is a great state fair!

I'm a little slow to post, but on September 8th we went to the fair. I don't know what it is about the fair, but I always look forward to going when it comes that time of year. I think it might be all that yummy fair food. Whatever it is, we had a great time!
Emma enjoyed the little hands on the farm exhibit where she learned all about farm chores. Mom and Dad enjoyed this as well because it was absolutely FREE!

I believe you cannot go to the fair without visiting the big yellow slide! Tyler enjoyed this one with Emma due to my ever increasing midsection.

Then it was off to the animals which is all Emma could talk about. We got to see a lamby get a haircut, and Emma discovered something about pigs.....
.... that they really stink!
It was hilarious! She was so excited to go see the piggies which were outdoors mind you. But when we walked in the tent, Emma started crying and trying to cover her nose. It was all she could do not to throw up. I wish I had the camera ready for her initial reaction, but I think you get the idea. Now, any time you mention the piggies, Emma will tell you that "piggy stinks!"
