Clarification

I meant to do this a while ago, but life gets busy! There was confusion for some in my last post, so I thought I better clarify. That was a very subtle announcement! We are going to have another baby! The baby is due January 5th, which makes me about 10 weeks along. I went to the doctor and everything is looking normal. They did say I am at risk for pre-term labor, mainly because Emma was born pre-term. So that means I will be packing my hospital bag 2 months before I'm due, which probably means I will have the baby 2 weeks after my due date! This pregnancy has been a lot harder than the last one! So everyone thinks I'm having a boy. But I'm not convinced. Either way I will be happy. Sometimes I think Emma will do just fine having a baby around. Other times I wonder. If any of you have suggestions on how to prepare her and help her adjust, I would love to hear them!

Its a BOY!!! Guaranteed! That is my vote! (However, little girls sure have away with daddy's heart)

Yeah for you two! I am so happy for you guys!! I am sure Emma will do great with the baby.

Spencer hasn't left town yet... he is camping out on the couch, popping pills and going nuts with boredom, but he can't walk yet so you do what you gotta do! We need to do lunch again... if you can keep it down =)

Congrats Lauri! That is so neat. Emma will do just fine. You are such a great little mommy that she will be just as great as you!

Let me know anytime you need a break and we can come and get her. I am sure the boys would figure out how to play with a girl... eventually. :)

CONGRATS!!! It's so exciting to have two. She will do great. Just don't be holding the baby in the hospital the first time she comes. Let her come sit on your lap and have someone hand you the baby. Then she won't feel like the baby is taking over.

Congrats to all three of you! I don't know Emma, but it sounds like she'll do just fine. And, although I'm not trying to discourage Tyler, even though this pregnancy's different, it doesn't necessarily mean much. In fact, I had morning sickness with my first (girl), and didn't with my second (girl). In fact, it just felt different too, so I was pretty sure it was going to be a boy. Let's just say that both Nate and I were pretty surprised when they said it was a girl. Who knows!! As far as suggestions, I would try to make it a special event for Emma too. I bought Aliya a little gift to give her as a new big sister present. I've also heard of having a sibling party, but I think that might be more for when there is more than just one kid. I would make sure that you have a little mommy/daughter time with her when she gets to the hospital and try to include her in the whole experience as much as possible (letting her get to know the baby too). It's easy to tell her "don't" and "be careful", etc a lot with the new baby, but try to be as positive as posible. There are my two bits. Take them for what they're worth - I'm no expert, but that's what I've learned so far at least!

No worries about little Emma. She being your little nursemaid, has definitely set a foundation of a great nurturing daughter and sister. For the boy thing, I would love you to have one of each, but if it's another girl, it still wouldn't matter, cause #2 will be blessed to come to loving parents and sister. That's all that really matters, right!?!

Congratulations! I am very excited for you guys! I thought that I was having a girl this time, because this pregnancy was so different from my first, but they were both boys...so you never can tell. You just have to wait around another 10 weeks and then you will know what it is! Hope you start feeling better soon!

Hello! I'm not sure if you both remember me or not. But I looked at your blog from the Hunter updates! Anyways, I was just going to say that when my 2nd was born we brought a present from her to give to my boy, he was SO happy! He said she knew exactly what he wanted so he was really liking her then. We also made the day before she was born his day. We took him to a movie, dinner, and had everything just about him. Then he got to sleepover at his grandparents for "paisley eve" He was at the hospital the entire time waiting for Paisley to be born and when she was he was the first to hold her! Anyways just some ideas!! Good luck!! Seems like your little family is doing well!!
