Heritage Park

I haven't been too diligent in my blogging lately, but a theme I regrettably seem to live by is better late than never. A couple of weeks ago we went to This is the Place Heritage Park with my cousin and my sister in law. It has changed a lot since I had been there last. Its a lot more fun than I remember! My cousin Nikki works there for the summer. And even with a professional tour guide, we didn't see everything. But we sure got to see a lot! Thanks Nikki for such a fun day!
The monument

Playing pioneer games
Ironing like the pioneers did
watering the plants
making our very own buzz saw
dancing on the stage
petting all the animals
trying on the very fashionable hats

It's harder than it looks!

Happy Birthday Emma!

Emma's birthday was last Sunday, July 6th. My little baby is 2 years old! It was a fun day. She was so excited to open her presents. They were sitting on the table, and we had to let her open a few throughout the day because she wouldn't leave them alone. She chose My Little Pony decorations for her party with my family, and she especially loved the bouquet of balloons we got to help decorate. At her party we ate pancakes for dinner, and had banana splits for dessert because she loves bananas and ice cream. It was a fun day! Thanks to my family for coming to the party and for all the really nice gifts. Emma loves every one of them! Now we get to look forward to celebrating with the Tyson's. Gotta drag those birthdays out as long as you can!

Fun Facts about Emma
  • Emma's favorite color is pink
  • Emma absolutely loves airplanes. Whenever we're outside or in the car she looks for airplanes. Then she asks over and over "Where airplane go?" and when you say "I don't know", she answers her own question with "da airport".
  • Emma is very thoughtful. All throughout the day she is asking me "where Jenasi", or "where grama". She is always thinking about others.
  • Emma loves to color and read stories.
  • Emma is very nurturing. She helped me when I was sick, and she is actually very good with her little cousins(a trait I'm hoping sticks with this new baby coming). She loves to play with her baby and put her to bed and feed her her bottle.
  • Emma has so much personality. She never fails to make me smile. She is constantly doing and saying goofy things that make me laugh. I love it!
  • Emma loves airplanes.
  • Emma loves to play in the water. Whether it be swimming in a pool, or playing in a fountain.
  • Emma is a sweetheart. She gives the best hugs and kisses. It absolutely melts my heart when she just comes up to me and gives me a big squeeze for no reason. She does it pretty often, and I love it!
  • Did I mention she loves airplanes.
  • Emma is kind of a tomboy.
  • Emma loves to sing and dance. She sings along to hairspray, even on key sometimes. And whenever there's a musical movie on, she dances to all the songs.
  • Emma is the joy of our lives! We love you Emma

The Zoo

Last Saturday we went to the zoo to celebrate Emma's birthday. Emma hasn't been to the zoo since she's been old enough to enjoy it. She loved seeing all the animals and being there with her cousins and grandma.

Emma loved the elephants. I wish you could hear her say it, it's adorable!
We were cooling off at one of the many misters they had there. Which was really nice because boy was it HOT!
Emma would rather push the wagon than ride in it. Go figure.

Emma, Ashlyn, and Jenasi. Emma loves her cousins!

Life is Busy!

Finally our lives have started to calm down a little bit! We rented our town house and just moved in to my parents house. Any of you who have moved know that its really like a 2 week process! What a pain! And Emma turned 2 last Sunday on the 6th. We had a fun weekend celebrating her birthday. It's hard for me to believe she is 2. I had her pictures done, and she looked so grown up in them. It made me feel kind of sad. Time flies by too quickly! Tyler continues to make excellent progress on our house. It's exciting to go over there and see it, because it is really starting to take shape and become more of a reality. I've been so impressed and grateful for his hard work and motivation. I haven't posted in a while so I thought I'd just do a little update on our lives. I have a lot of catching up to do on what's going on with all of you. I look forward to it!
